About this game

To the Light is a game about being in the dark and escaping to light. Navigate the dark hallway of an underground bunker and fend off the monsters to reach the outer world.

Dev Log

In this game, my main role is as the sound designer, creating the atmosphere to match the game’s theme and handling environmental design such as the furniture scattered throughout the game. I use FMOD as my primary tool for audio integration with Unity, working closely with programmers and game designers to ensure the audio aligns perfectly with the gameplay. Additionally, I use Excel to manage sounds and maintain a detailed checklist.

A key lesson I’ve learned from this is that I should learn more about audio spatialization and mastering to ensure the audio feels more coherent. But overall, it’s been a very cool experience as this is the first time I’ve been fully involved in sound design.
