On a random day, I modeled this character... and now it’s my mascot!

Artist Statement

I Dear ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ ,

I’m not here to revolutionize the gaming industry or invent new mechanics.

What drives me is crafting experiences that let people feel what I feel and understand what I love.

I don’t usually start by thinking about mechanics. Sometimes I do, but mostly I ask myself, what will players feel when they play? Sadness? An adrenaline rush? To me, games are art, a way to express ideas and stories. I often think of them like films, tools to build my own worlds and narratives. Focusing on feelings gives me a larger canvas to paint the experience, rather than leaning on mechanics that might not support the bigger picture.

I love films. They convey stories in such vibrant ways, the way they use composition and framing, how they stage and pace each scene, and how every crew member contributes to telling a single story. For films, composition and framing do so much more than just show a scene. They can reveal a character’s personality and emotions without a single word. The way a person is framed can tell a subtle story within the story, adding layers of meaning that viewers feel instinctively. That’s the kind of richness I want to capture in games.

I’m addicted to how music can evoke uncertainty like in Signalis or create that addictive loop like in Balatro. I love and strive to craft the experience through music and sound design too. It fascinates me how different musical scales can shape our emotions, how a single dissonant note can raise tension, or how a slight change in rhythm can completely alter the experience.

Honestly, I love so many things, films, music, art, but I can’t do it all. So, I choose games as my medium to bring those passions together on a smaller scale, crafting tiny interactive movies for my audience to experience.

Best wishes, Thangtuner
